Team Administrator
A great role for an exceptionally organised and proactive administrator to work with the Martingale Foundation team to support students from low socio-economic backgrounds.
Martingale Postgraduate Foundation (Martingale) exists to fund and support the next generation of STEM leaders. We believe that family income should not be a barrier to the pursuit of excellence, so our programmes focus on supporting students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
Martingale is incubated by Purposeful Ventures who provide operational and strategic support. The Team Administrator will be employed by Purposeful Ventures.
Martingale is looking for a highly motivated and adaptable Team Administrator, to support us to achieve our vision that family income should not be a barrier to the pursuit of excellence.
We are a fast paced start up, and you will play a key role in ensuring the Foundation is ready to scale, working collaboratively across the Team and with external stakeholders. You will take on diary management, travel and meeting coordination, support with financial administration and respond to external enquiries. You will meet with academics, Martingale Scholars, potential funders and other external stakeholders.
We’re looking for someone with the drive to identify administrative needs for the organisation as it grows, and implement systems and processes to ensure the smooth running of the foundation and the various projects underway.

Responsibilities and duties
Diary, travel and administration
- Arranging meetings, travel and accommodation for the team, Board members other stakeholders
- Scheduling and minuting Advisory Board and team meetings
Expenses management
- Administration of applicant and scholar expenses
- Finance administration support to the Head of Strategy and Operations
Programme administration
- Management of shared mailboxes, responding to and triaging requests
- Researching and booking venues and catering for meetings and events
- Updating Martingale's CRM, Beacon
General
- Lead on communications with HR and office administration teams for all day-to-day operations matters
- Identify administrative needs for the organisation, implement systems and processes to ensure smooth running
- Maintaining clear recordings, up to date project information and project tracking
Key requirements
Experience
- Experience in administration for a start-up, charity, private-sector or university
- Experience managing busy diaries and communicating with external stakeholders, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Experience producing meeting minutes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences. Experience communicating with university students, staff and academics is desirable.
- Experience working in a fast-paced working environment and/or a growing organisation
- Experience implementing systems and processes
- Experience using a CRM (desirable)
