Venture Associate
Use your strategic, analytical, research and operational skills to identify and support the development of high impact organisations working with children and young people.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about improving social mobility and tackling educational inequality to develop their strategic and operational skills while working with mission-driven organisations to deliver huge social impact.
You will work as part of an experienced and growing team alongside inspirational charities and social enterprises to help them to successfully grow and deliver systemic change. You will help us research new opportunities, launch new ventures and support existing organisations. You will have the opportunity to work across a range of functions, from analytics and strategy through to hands-on operations and implementation.
As you prove yourself, there are opportunities to develop your skills and progress within the team and beyond, including the potential for secondments to partner charities and guidance on future studies including MBA courses.

Responsibilities and duties
Build understanding of the areas in which we work:
- Conduct initial research to help us understand the dynamics of the sectors in which we work and key levers for change, and identify high-impact organisations with whom to partner
- Develop hypotheses for future growth and impact (e.g. new products, services, organisations or markets) and test them via quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Develop and consolidate knowledge and insights around how to make long-lasting change in our core areas of work
Support the development of high-impact organisations:
- Support strategy development as our ventures move towards scale, sustainability and independence
Provide day-to-day operational support for our ventures, this could include:
- Developing relationships with experts, funders, and delivery partners
- Developing the ‘business case’
- Standing up the organisation
- Project management
- Managing back-office operations
Support the development of the overall sector
- Identify areas for improvement across multiple ventures and support them to implement suggestions
- Pool knowledge across the ventures
Key requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- 2+ years’ experience in strategic or analytical roles, e.g. as an analyst or associate in a strategy consultancy
- Experience producing quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Experience of working with a diverse and complex range of stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence when meeting internal and external stakeholders – ability to persuade, influence and hold others to account
- Flexible, highly organised and able to multi-task and prioritise work to meet deadlines. Comfortable working in a small, dynamic, growing organisation
- Happy working with a degree of ambiguity, and creating processes and ways forwards where they might not yet exist
