The Team and HR Coordinator will help ensure that Purposeful Ventures runs smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with the COO and Head of People, taking a proactive and varied role in the running of Purposeful Ventures, our office and facilities, and leading on the coordination of our HR administration. You will be anticipating and responding to team requirements so no two days will be the same – for example, signposting staff, supporting set up of project workshops, arranging team away days, minute taking, issuing contracts and welcoming and orientating new employees. Working with Purposeful Ventures colleagues, you will help make sure staff are supported in HR and administrative matters and that they have an exceptional employee experience at Purposeful Ventures.
This role would suit someone keen to gain exposure to the breadth of operational functions and further develop their expertise in HR. The Team and HR Coordinator will be organised and will have fantastic attention to detail, a strong can-do attitude and a willingness to proactively contribute to the team in multiple different ways. You will enjoy working flexibly and collaboratively and forming strong relationships within Purposeful Ventures and beyond.

Responsibilities and duties
Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Purposeful Ventures Team, by providing team coordination and administrative support, including:
- being the first point of contact for general enquiries;
- managing the team calendar, coordinating arrangements for meetings and socials;
- supporting the external IT services contractor;
- providing research and administrative support to the COO;
- ensuring the efficient management of CRM information, team and project documents and templates; and
- minuting incubated ventures’ project board meetings as needed.
Ensure that the Purposeful Ventures team has a pleasant and productive working environment by:
- making the Purposeful Ventures office a pleasant, productive, inspiring environment for staff and contractors to work and collaborate;
- keeping the Purposeful Ventures office well stocked with agreed supplies;
- managing the day-to-day coordination of the office and office visitors; and
- monitoring office IT equipment, ensuring items are working well and repaired swiftly and that staff have access to the facilities they need.
Provide effective and efficient HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle for both Purposeful Ventures and its incubated ventures and funds, including:
- being the first point of contact for the HR mailbox;
- managing employee onboarding and offboarding processes and activities;
- coordinating all HR administration;
- upkeep of the HR Information System, CharlieHR; and
- administration of all recruitment procedures from job application to appointment, using Team Tailor.
Contribute to the smooth running of our finance processes, providing support to finance staff including mailbox monitoring and expenses submissions.
Key requirements
This role will suit someone who enjoys and excels in varied administration and operations roles, making things work well for staff and clients, and delivering efficient customer service both internally and externally.
We are particularly interested in candidates with prior experience of HR administration and procedures and a desire to continue to develop their HR knowledge.
The successful candidate will have:
- A commitment to and interest in Purposeful Ventures’ mission
- Administration and operations experience in an office or related environment
- Experience in HR administration
- Excellent administration skills, detail orientated and systematic with the ability to inject pace and ensure delivery of multiple moving parts of their work; able to prioritise requests for their time
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt communication styles to the situation and audience
- Experience of proactively developing and maintaining relationships, internally and externally
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Demonstrable commitment to and experience of implementing and improving systems and processes
- Experience using a CRM
- Experience of handling and managing confidential data
- Experience working in a fast-paced working environment and/or a growing organisation
- Right to work in the UK
