Welcome to Purposeful Ventures
What we do
Purposeful Ventures partners with social entrepreneurs and philanthropists to improve the education and well-being of young people from their earliest years.
We define and diagnose the issues affecting children and young people, analyse evidence and explore the most promising solutions. We then select, accelerate and, where we find a gap, incubate organisations which tackle those issues.
We offer more than just funding to our charitable ventures. Our expertise, operational experience and networks enable us to deliver tailored, hands-on support with a relentless commitment to system change.
Our vision is of a fairer society where all young people thrive.
Our work in practice
-
Maths Horizons
Maths Horizons was launched to develop evidence, analysis and recommendations about the future of maths curriculum and assessment in England.
Their first major publication, How England should reform maths education for the age of AI, was shared in the House of Lords in May 2025 and featured in the Sunday Times.
-
Baby Bank Alliance
We are co-incubating the Baby Bank Alliance with Save the Children. The Alliance supports and advocates for UK baby banks and families, to ensure babies and children have the essentials they need to thrive.
In their first year, the Alliance distributed vital funds to baby banks, published groundbreaking data, and secured partnerships with IKEA, Amazon, ITV's Lorraine, Morrisons and more.
-
1729 Maths School
We are partnering with Mill Hill Schools to launch of the 1729 Maths School, the UK’s first specialist 11-18 Maths school, a pioneering institution dedicated to nurturing mathematical excellence.
The school will identify and develop exceptional mathematical talent, offering partially and fully funded places to ensure that family income is never a barrier to entry.
Working with us
We are an experienced team with backgrounds in strategy consulting, education and non-profit leadership. Together, we have grown over 15 charities, collectively making an impact on the lives of over a million young people in the last decade.
Working here is stimulating and there is variety in our day-to-day. We work at pace with a relentless focus on impact, but we also take time to support colleagues, have fun and learn from one another. We want to work with interesting people who bring diverse perspectives; striking the balance between work and
